ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING: Injured Hunter Released
A Red Oak man seriously injured while hunting in Indianola is now out of the hospital.
Fifty-eight-year-old Miles Sagen was hit in the chest on Sunday morning. He was shot by someone else in his nine-member hunting party.
The DNR says it was impossible to see someone more than 100 yards away due to the dense fog.
Officials say the slug that hit Sagen traveled 144 yards.
The first of Iowa’s two shotgun deer hunting seasons ends Wednesday.
